Endura Hummvee Bike Shorts
After commuting for a few months, comfort becomes everything on the bike. From those trusty pair of shorts or pants that you tolerated when you first took up cycling, you begin searching for shorts that have more padding, warmth and dry faster in wet conditions.
Good news, the Endura Hummvee Cycling Shorts are a great answer for anyone looking to buy their first pair of cycling shorts or simply are looking to replace an existing pair of cycling shorts but not sure what to buy.
Style & Colour
Coming in a range of colours including black, olive and camouflage, the Hummvee shorts are bound to have a colour that everyone will like.
One thing about these shorts that may defer some people is that they are not the most slim fitting shorts going around. This is due to the multiple pockets, zippers, key clip, vent zip which results in a more baggier fit. This is largely due to the shorts being designed for mountain biking rather than road riding.
Good news for our female readers that these shorts also come in a women’s version. The only difference between the men’s and women’s version is there is a different shaped pad and less vent zips on the women’s version.
Material
While not being quite being water proof, the Endura Hummvee shorts use a water-repellent material that’s made of a Teflon treated nylon. Although the material isn't quite waterproof, it will still keep you relatively dry in wet conditions.
On the front of the shorts you have a fairly soft feel fabric while on the back, the shorts are designed with a more hard wearing material (still the Teflon treated nylon) which is designed to better cope with the constant rubbing of your seat. Additionally, the shorts are triple stitched which help with durability.

Features
Earlier we spoke about the bulkiness of these shorts but let’s explore that a bit more.
The shorts have been designed with 6 pockets which include:
- 2 zipped hand pockets
- 1 zipped cargo pocket
- 1 velcro/flap cargo pocket
- 2 big rear pockets
We think this is a great option for commuters who prefer not to carry a bag when commuting and are able to get by with only carrying a few items like their phone, swipe card for work, keys, etc. Speaking of keys, the shorts also come with a key clip which is positioned outside the shorts and is used to hook your keys onto.
Other features of the shorts include velcro leg tabs for adjusting the leg openings on the short which help if you are looking for a more tighter fit around the legs.
Also included are inner liners or chamois as some people may know them as which are 9 mm large and help provide additional comfort around the seat area. Not only is the pad comfortable but also includes an antibacterial layer to help keep the area clean and free from nasties.
Size/Fit
The Endura Hummvee shorts fit on the tighter side so if you are in doubt, we'd recommend sizing up and going a larger size.
If you're worried that by sizing up you may have issues with the shorts fitting properly, the shorts also come with an elasticated waist and belt which should also help with keeping the shorts nice and snug.

Conclusion
The Endura Hummvee shorts are a great option for anyone looking to buy a pair of cycling shorts that are tough, durable, cope well in wet conditions and have a great amount of pockets. While these are more of a mountain bike short that aren't as slim fitting as some people may like, we still think they are a great option for commuters.
